Your closet, as currency.

You do not need to be a member to shop here. But if you want to shop for “free” — using clothing you no longer wear to get clothing you do — this is how it works.

01

Before you arrive

Sort your closet into three piles — keep, donate, and exchange. Anything you bring in should be clean, free of wrinkles and smells, and in like-new condition. Bring it in on hangers or in bags; we'll give your hangers back either way.

02

Join, become a Local

Choose the plan that fits how you shop — one department or the whole household, monthly dues, no contracts. Individual and Family plans cover unlimited exchanges; student plans cover a set number each month. Cancel any time.

03

Bring your items in

We assess your clothing on the spot while you wait. Premium and designer brands are identified separately because they earn you more than an even exchange — that is how we honor what you originally paid.

04

Shop your new wardrobe

Walk the floor and take home what you actually want. The inventory changes constantly, so the rack you saw last week is not the rack today. That is the whole point of an infinite closet.

Prefer to consign?

Not ready for the exchange? Consign instead. Pop in during shop hours and we'll assess your items on the spot, hang them on our hangers, hand yours back, and email you the consignment contract. Members earn an additional 10% commission on consigned items.

  • In like-new condition — no stains, no pilling, no missing buttons.
  • Clean, free of wrinkles, and free of smells.
  • In season. We assess on the spot while you wait.

Please note: we do not assess or take in consignment during July or January — we use those months to switch seasons.

Or donate your items

If you'd rather not join and simply want your clothes to stay local, donate them. Thread Local Charities, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, provides free clothing to members of our community in greatest need.

It matters where clothing goes: an estimated 85% of donated clothes never reach anyone who needs them. Donating here guarantees yours stay in the community.
