The Thread Local 360 team in the shop

It started with a closet full of outgrown baby clothes.

In the summer of 2018, founder Tiffany Beardsley was boxing up her two-year-old's outgrown clothes when she noticed how many boxes were already sitting there — most of the pieces worn only a handful of times, some never worn at all.

Then she did the math. Roughly 500 gallons of water go into producing a single article of clothing. Multiplied across every closet like hers in the country, that is an almost unimaginable amount of water sitting unworn on a shelf. So she built somewhere those clothes could go — and where the clothes you actually want could come from.

"Create a clean and welcoming space where the most fiscally, environmentally, and socially responsible shoppers can connect and use the perfect clothing sitting in their closets as currency for clothes they feel good and look great in."

Mission Elevate the secondhand shopping experience and change how people shop for clothes.
Motivation Three words — pollution, waste, and hope. The fashion industry drives all three.
Vision Clothing treated as an asset with value beyond its price tag, not as disposable.
Community A local tribe of people who put people and planet over profit.

Ready to consign?

No appointment, no online submission queue — pop in during shop hours and we'll assess your items on the spot. We just ask that your clothing is ready to go straight onto the sales floor:

  • In like-new condition — no stains, no pilling, no missing buttons.
  • Clean, free of wrinkles, and free of smells.
  • In season. We assess on the spot while you wait.

Please note: we do not assess or take in consignment during July or January — we use those months to switch seasons.

Questions before you come in? Send us a note and we'll get back to you. Home pickup is not available for consignment — that service is for exchange and donation only.

Come say hello.

In the Williamsburg Crossing shopping center — easy parking, friendly staff, always something new on the rack.
